Collection: Calming Teas for Evening

This is the caffeine free shelf: lavender, rose, peppermint, rooibos, and hibiscus, packed in loose leaf sachets. If you are looking for a calming tea for evening, one that will not keep you up at midnight, start here and pick by flavor.

My own tea habit started at my kitchen table at night, once the house had gone quiet, and these are the blends I still pour at that hour. Nothing here has to be earned or justified. Pick the one you actually want to drink tonight.

How to choose

  • ✓ Floral and softly sweet: Lovely Lavender, lavender with hibiscus and butterfly pea flower, which turns the cup a blue purple.
  • ✓ Gentle and not sweet: Rose Garden, a delicate floral cup for when you want something quiet in your hands.
  • ✓ After a heavy dinner: Peppermint, cool and crisp, and the one that doubles as iced tea in a Texas summer.
  • ✓ Naturally sweet with no sugar added: Rooibos, the smooth red bush herbal from South Africa.
  • ✓ Bright and tart: Hibiscus, cranberry sharp, good hot at night or poured over ice the next day.

Good to know

  • ✓ Every blend on this page is caffeine free.
  • ✓ Each box holds four loose leaf sachets, one sachet per 8 ounce cup. No infuser, no measuring, no mess.
  • ✓ These are the same recipes I serve at my tea parties, packed in Cibolo, Texas.
  • ✓ There is no chamomile in the shop right now. Lovely Lavender and Rose Garden are the closest in feel.

The black and green blends live in the tea shop, and the full caffeine free range, Christmas Cranberry included, sits in herbal and caffeine free teas. For something to drink it from, see tea mugs. If you are sending a quiet cup to someone else, the Get Well Soon box pairs comforting blends with a card, words of affirmation, and a cookie.

Put the kettle on, and pour into yourself first.

Questions people ask

Do these teas have caffeine?

No. Every blend on this page is caffeine free, because none of them are made from the tea plant. They are herbal infusions of flowers, leaves, and red bush, so you can drink them late without a jolt. The black and green blends in the tea shop do contain caffeine.

Do you sell chamomile tea?

Not at the moment. If chamomile is what you usually reach for, Lovely Lavender and Rose Garden are the closest here in flavor and feel, both floral and gentle. Rooibos is the closest if what you like about chamomile is the soft, slightly sweet finish.

Do I need a teapot or an infuser?

No. The loose leaf tea comes in sachets, so you drop one in a mug and add hot water. Each box has four sachets, and one sachet makes an 8 ounce cup. Brewing instructions come in the box.

Which calming tea should I try first?

Try Lovely Lavender if you want floral and a little sweet, Peppermint if you drink tea after dinner, and Rooibos if you want something smooth and mellow. Each box is four sachets, so it is an easy blend to try two of and see which one you keep reaching for.
