Tea is the reason. What happens around the table is the point.
Come in for a pot on your lunch break. Bring the friend you have been meaning to catch up with. Bring a book, or a laptop, and stay past the bottom of the cup. Bring twelve people and a birthday cake.
You do not need to know a single thing about tea to walk through the door, and nobody here is going to quiz you. Tell us what you like, or point at a name you like the sound of, and we will pour you something lovely.
That is really the whole idea. Beautiful things, made easy to walk into.
The whole room is alcohol free, on purpose. Nobody has to explain why they are not drinking, and everybody gets something worth ordering.

Hot pots and iced pours, black, green, white, oolong, herbal, chai, and a few house blends you will not find anywhere else. Something to eat alongside, kept simple and done well.

An elegant Halloween afternoon tea with haunted brews, finger foods, desserts, vintage china and Halloween games. Come in costume, in a vintage dress, or exactly as you are. For guests 17 and up, 30 seats, tickets from $25.

The Tea Blossom was made for gatherings. Birthdays and bridal showers, a friend group that finally needs a standing date, a mother and daughter afternoon, a book club that got serious about the snacks.
For companies, it is employee appreciation that people talk about afterward, client gatherings with a little more warmth than a steakhouse, team experiences, and community group meetings. We have been hosting these for years at other people's venues. Now there is a room of our own.
Every gathering here is alcohol free, which turns out to be exactly why some people book us. No bar tab on the company card, no awkward question for the guest who is not drinking, and the designated driver gets something as lovely as everyone else.
How we got here
It started at a table
Erica Powers started hosting tea parties in San Antonio because of something she kept noticing. Hand a person a warm cup, give them permission to stay, and the whole room changes. Shoulders come down. Phones go face down. People talk to each other like they have the time.
Four years later, Tea Parties by Erica Powers has poured in ballrooms, backyards, boardrooms, and at more than one Bridgerton style ball. Guests kept asking the same question at the end of every event. Where can we find you the rest of the year?
The Tea Blossom is the answer. A permanent home, on McCullough, with the kettle already on.

When is The Tea Blossom open?
Every day from 11am to 6pm. We opened on Saturday, October 10, 2026.
Can I come in just for tea?
Yes, and we hope you do. Walking in for a single pot is exactly what this room is for.
Do you serve alcohol?
No, and that is a choice we made early. The Tea Blossom is completely alcohol free. Pregnant, sober, driving, or simply not drinking tonight, you get the same beautiful cup as everyone else, and so does your whole party.
Will I need a reservation?
Not for everyday tea. Private gatherings, classes, and ticketed events are booked ahead, and list members hear about those first.
Can I book a private tea party or celebration?
Yes. Birthdays, showers, milestone celebrations, and private gatherings can be hosted in the tea room. Visit our Rent the Tea Room page to ask about your date and we will confirm availability with you.
Do you host classes and events?
We do. Tastings, steeping classes, Tea-Mixology nights, themed events, date nights and community gatherings are added as dates are set. Ask about this month's tastings and classes when you visit, or send us a message.
Can a business book a corporate experience?
Yes. Employee appreciation, client gatherings, team experiences, and group bookings are all part of what we do. You can see our corporate tea experiences now, and we bring them into the tea room as dates are set.
Can I buy Tea Blossom tea and gifts online?
You can, today. Loose leaf tea, teaware, gift sets, A Tea Party In A Box, and our monthly subscription all ship now, and the same tea is on the shelves in the tea room.

We are one of the shops inside Trader's Town Market. Come through the main entrance and follow the smell of bergamot.
Hours
Eleven to six, seven days a week. Come on a lunch break, come after work, come on a Sunday when you have nowhere else to be.
Tea has never really been about the tea. It is about somewhere to sit down, and someone glad you came. We saved you a seat on McCullough.
