This is the caffeine free herbal tea shelf: six loose leaf blends with no caffeine in them at all, packed in sachets, for the cup you want at nine at night. Rose, lavender, hibiscus, peppermint, rooibos, and a sweet cranberry.
These are the blends I pour at my parties when someone tells me they cannot have caffeine after lunch. They are also what I reach for at my own kitchen table once everyone has gone to bed, which is where my tea habit started in the first place.
Caffeine free is the whole point of this shelf, so green and black tea are not on it. If those are what you came for, they are one click away in the tea shop.
How to choose
- ✓ Soft and floral, for an afternoon tea or a Bridgerton night: Rose Garden.
- ✓ Lavender with hibiscus and butterfly pea flower, lightly sweet from stevia leaves, and it steeps a blue purple: Lovely Lavender.
- ✓ The closest thing here to a black tea, smooth and naturally sweet with no bitterness: Rooibos.
- ✓ Cool and crisp, the one for after a heavy dinner: Peppermint.
- ✓ Tart, ruby red, and the best of the six over ice: Hibiscus.
- ✓ Sweet and tangy, with a holiday name you can drink in July: Christmas Cranberry.
Good to know
- ✓ Every blend on this page is caffeine free.
- ✓ Nothing here is decaffeinated. These are herbal infusions, so the caffeine was never in them to take out.
- ✓ Loose leaf in sachets. No infuser, no measuring, no mess. Just add hot water.
- ✓ Four sachets in a box, one sachet per 8 ounce cup, brewing instructions inside.
- ✓ Packed and shipped from Cibolo, Texas.
If you are sending one of these to somebody rather than keeping it, start in tea gifts. If you would rather somebody else poured it for you, that is what I do at my tea parties.
Pick the one that sounds like your evening, and just add hot water.
Questions people ask
Is herbal tea really caffeine free?
Yes, for all six blends on this page. They are herbal infusions made from flowers, leaves, and fruit rather than from the tea plant, so there is no caffeine in them to begin with. That is different from decaf, which is ordinary tea with the caffeine taken back out.
Which one should I drink at night?
Any of the six, because none of them has caffeine in it. Rooibos is the one people pick when they want something that drinks like a black tea, Lovely Lavender is the softest, and Peppermint is the coolest on the tongue. Start with the flavor you already like.
Do I need a teapot or an infuser?
No. The loose leaf is already packed into individual sachets, so you drop one in a cup, add hot water, and that is it. One sachet per 8 ounce cup. Brewing instructions come in every box.
How many cups do I get from one box?
Four. Each box holds four loose leaf sachets and one sachet makes an 8 ounce cup. If you are not sure which blend you want yet, pick two different boxes instead of one, so you get eight cups and two flavors to compare.
