October tea subscription box moment with a warm cup, sugar cubes and reflection cards

Inside the October Tea Subscription Box

The October tea subscription box is built around the 4 things on my October calendar: cozy season, Halloween and harvest, fall gatherings, and Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The order window closes on Monday, October 12, and until it does, I am not naming the 3 teas inside.

Opening the box without knowing is half the pleasure of a subscription. What I will tell you is everything else: what lands in every box, why October looks the way it does, how the 3 teas get chosen, and what happens on the 26th. Then on the 12th, when the window shuts, I will come back to this page and name all 3.

The short version: October's box is $26 a month.

✓ 3 mini tea boxes, 4 sachets each, 12 cups of tea in all.

✓ A cookie, sugar cubes, a recipe card, a tea facts card, a game and reflection cards.

✓ A seat at the virtual tea party on Monday, October 26.

✓ Order by Monday, October 12. After that you start with November's box.

✓ The 3 teas get named here on the 12th.

What Comes in the October Tea Subscription Box?

Every October box holds 3 mini boxes of loose leaf tea, 12 sachets in all, plus a cookie, sugar cubes, a recipe card, a tea facts card, a game or activity, reflection cards, and your seat at the monthly virtual tea party. That list never changes. The month changes what fills each slot.

That is what people miss when they weigh up whether a monthly tea subscription box is worth it. You know exactly what arrives. You just do not know which teas.

What never changes What October changes
3 mini tea boxes, 4 sachets each, 12 cups in all Which 3 blends go in
A recipe card The recipe, written for October's featured tea
A tea facts card The blend it is written about
A game or activity October's game
Reflection cards The questions I am sitting with this month
A cookie, individually wrapped Nothing. Same cookie, not gluten-free
Sugar cubes Nothing. Real cubes, every month
A seat at the virtual tea party The date, always the last Monday

Now and then I tuck in something extra that I do not announce. I am not saying whether October has one.

What Is the October Tea Box Theme?

October's box is built around fall cozy season, Halloween and harvest, fall gatherings, and Breast Cancer Awareness Month, because October in my house is all of those at once.

The cozy part is not a mood I invented to sell tea. It is the month the kettle goes on without anybody asking. And Halloween stopped being one night a while ago: in the National Retail Federation's 2026 survey, 49% of consumers said they began Halloween shopping in September or earlier. October is a season now, and people want in early.

Then there is the pink. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and I am not going to turn a tea box into a campaign. What I will say is this. If that ribbon means something in your family, Susan G. Komen lists ways to get involved this month. And if October lands heavier on you than it does on most people, that is exactly who this box is packed for. 20 quiet minutes where nobody needs a thing from you.

September's box honored Hispanic Heritage Month, which runs through October 15, so the first half of this month still carries a little of that table with it.

What Are the 3 Teas in the October Box?

Every month the box carries one featured tea, one seasonal favorite and one customer-loved classic, and October follows the same rule. That is how I can describe all 3 without naming a single one.

  • ✓ The featured tea is the one the tea facts card is written about, and the one we all brew together on the 26th.
  • ✓ The seasonal favorite is chosen for the month. If you want fall in your cup before the box lands, my fall tea blends are on the shelf right now.
  • ✓ The customer-loved classic is one people reorder without being asked. Only 3 or 4 teas on my shelf earn that name, and one of them is in this box.

The reveal works the way it did in September. I named all 3 of the September teas in that month's post once the window closed, and I will do the same here on October 12.

What Is on the October Recipe Card?

The recipe card turns the featured tea into something you would actually make on a weeknight. Across the year the cards cover lattes, iced teas and mocktails October's is written around the featured tea.

One thing I will flag, because people are shy about asking. Everything in this box is alcohol-free, the recipes included.

What Happens at the October 26 Virtual Tea Party?

The October virtual tea party is Monday, October 26, and if you are a member your seat is included. We meet online for about 75 minutes, brew the same tea at the same time, and talk.

It is tea education, a game and conversation prompts, and it is the part that turns a box into a club. A box on your porch is a delivery. A box on your porch plus a room of people brewing the same cup on a Monday night is something else.

If you want to try the room before the box, you can book a single seat at the virtual tea party. There is a seat on its own, and a seat with a tea and games goody box that ships free. The goody box has an earlier cutoff, listed on that page.

When Does The Tea Blossom Open?

The Tea Blossom, my tea room, opens on Saturday, October 10, 2026 at 614 McCullough Ave in San Antonio, inside Trader's Town Market, and after that it is open every day from 11am to 8pm.

For years I have poured at other people's venues. This month there is finally a room of our own with the kettle already on. If you live nearby, come and see The Tea Blossom and let me pour for you in person. If you do not, the subscription is the tea room by mail, and the virtual party is the table you can reach from anywhere.

When Is the October Cutoff, and What If I Miss It?

Monday, October 12 is the last day to order and still receive the October box. Order after the 12th and you start with November's instead.

One more reason to start now. Clocks go back on November 1 this year, and the evenings get dark early after that. Something warm arriving in the mail once a month carries more weight in a dark November than it does in July.

Who Is the October Box For?

It is for the woman who keeps meaning to slow down and never quite gets there, and for the person who loves her and is tired of sending flowers that die by Friday. Often they are the same woman in different months.

You can buy it for somebody else. Put their address in at checkout and the box goes to them, while billing and any skip, pause or cancel stays in your account. If you would rather she picked her own start date, a gift card lets her choose.

Here is the thing about October. Everybody is busy pretending they are not tired, and then the holidays arrive and nobody has rested since summer. A box with 12 cups and a few honest questions is a small argument against that. You cannot pour from an empty pot. I have tried.

Ready to open the October box with me? Join the Monthly Tea Blossom Club by Monday, October 12, skip or cancel any time, and I will see you on the 26th. Who will you invite to your table?
